In all phases of our business, from the hotel building to the daily management, eco-sustainability has always been one of our main objectives.
We want to extend the concept of sustainability: every daily action is not just about respecting the environment but respecting the well-being of all living things.
We act in the awareness of an economic development compatible with the environmental protection, an improved quality of life, equal rights and the preservations of cultural heritage.
Solar Energy
Clean, safe and inexhaustible, using solar energy with photovoltaic and solar panels installed on the roofs, the Hotel generates most of its energy needs fully respecting the environment.
Plastic Free
For years now, we have been doing everything we can to drastically reduce the use of plastic in the Hotel:
- We stopped using disposable plastic water bottles, by installing a water filtration and carbonation system that delivers water in glass customized bottles.
- We committed to choosing low environmental impact products, reducing plastic packaging, not using single use packages and having reusable dispenser for the beauty products.
Green Area
Our Hotel is surrounded by nature, every day we take care of our gardens, plants and trees and we are rewarded with magnificent colors, cool shade during the summer and fresh air to breathe far from the big cities pollution.
Our irrigation system uses only zero environmental impact water sources: drawing the water from a well and using a rainwater collection system.
Awards
The hotel has been recognized PLATINUM level of the Eco Leaders Trip Advisor program.
The Eco Leader award for ecological engagement has recognized our commitment to improving the experience of tourists who choose the Cinque Terre as holiday destination.
In 2012 the Hotel "Al Terra di Mare" was awarded by UNESCO with the first prize of the national competition "The Factory in the Landscape". The jury chose the Hotel Al Terra di Mare "recognizing it as a cultural act that, drawing a rugged landscape as that of Liguria, is attentive, respectful and in line with the of both the natural and spiritual context of the territory in which it arises and lives every day."
In 2007 the Hotel got certified to ISO’s management system standards: ISO9001 Quality management and ISO14001 Environmental management, which guarantee a business management aimed at characterizing and qualifying its services
through a constant research that intends to improving the company systems with respect to quality, safety and environmental impact.
